Bethel, Connecticut — October 18, 2021 — Altexa Srl and GHS Holdings announced the launch of HDry®'b5', a bio-based waterproof laminate for the summer and autumn 2021 market season. HDry® will personally participate in the Functional Fabric Expo in Portland, Oregon from November 17th to 18th.

Top brands have joined, and HDry’s feedback is excellent. HDry is the most advanced technology for waterproofing outdoor products through direct 3D lamination of waterproof and breathable membranes. This is another step of the "direct lamination" ecological technology in waterproof outdoor performance products.

HDry is committed to playing a role in protecting the environment. The innovative manufacturing processes and materials used throughout the lamination process are far above industry standards, aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of the outdoor and apparel manufacturing industries. The new HDry'b5' bio-based membrane provides an opportunity to reduce the dependence of fossil fuels on high-end active gears with high bio-content (53%), thereby achieving the highest range of responsible technical performance.

"Our new bio-based membrane at HDry replaces most of the oil in our process with inedible bio-based corn derivatives. We are working hard to maintain our excellent performance characteristics in terms of waterproof and breathable performance, while reducing our The negative environmental impact of products on the ecosystem," said Gary Schloss of GHS Holdings, a distributor of HDry NA. "We are working hard to make our brand stand out from the competition in the market, provide an alternative, and provide first-class element protection while continuing to build our sustainability story."

The existing HDry composite material is made of polyurethane ester-based waterproof and breathable membrane combined with thin polyester knitted fabric. Material saving and lightness are its biggest advantages. HDry does not contain PTFE and does not use perfluorinated compounds (PFC, PFO, PFOA, etc.) in its production. HDry does not contain any restricted substances in the REACH-ECHA list and has passed OEKO-TEX certification.

The "HDry" brand name is derived from the abbreviation of the chemical name of water (H2O), plus the word "Dry", which symbolizes the connection between this technology and water.
