Gifts are given during the holiday season to anticipate the wishes of the recipient—especially when they are unwilling to splurge for themselves. This season, a beauty gift set has attracted the attention of makeup enthusiasts (and their generous relatives): the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk On The Go set. If you wish to get the Pillow Talk Lip Secrets set that is currently sold out by the brand, you will be happy to know that the set contains two of the best-selling lip products contained in it, but with the addition of eye products in the picture, as well. As the beauty editor of Reviewed, I tried both sets-and, don’t worry, your favorite beauty gurus will also like eye and lip sets, if not more.

This four-piece set includes two lip products and two eye products, allowing your gift giver to add a touch of Pillow Talk pink (Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic hue) to these areas of the face. Except for the full-size eyeshadow stick, each product in the kit is a travel size, but is also sold separately in full size, so your recipient can supplement their new cosmetic essentials. The following is what is included:

I tried each item in the kit to see how its performance compares to what it claims. I was impressed without paying too much.

As promised, the matte revolutionary lipstick in Pillow Talk Original looked matte, but my lips did not feel dry at all. I usually stay away from matte lipsticks because I'm afraid they will emphasize my chapped lips and lines. Although it did not hide these insecurities, the lipstick did not attract people's attention. The square tapered tip of the lipstick bullet makes it easy to apply without staining around my lips. As for the color, I understand why this is revered as the perfect balance of nude and pink for most people. This is a "my lips but better" shade that makes my already pink lips darker and more visible. Even for people with a different skin tone than mine, this is not an accurate nude tone, and I can't imagine it looks unflattering. The only thing I can see that someone is upset about it is its strong vanilla smell, although I noticed it dissipates after an hour or so of wear. Although I like this scent-it is sweet but not greasy-other people may not like it too much.

The Lip Cheat pad in Pillow Talk Original is creamy and can deposit enough pigment in just a few times. The tapered tip is rounded, so it doesn't feel sharp on the skin, but it can still be applied precisely-this is a necessary attribute when you carefully outline full lips and prevent feathering of the lipstick. This lip liner itself is not special, but I am happy to have it, especially for gifts that like Pillow Talk shades. They can also use eyeliner to outline or fill lips, and then apply a layer of gloss or lip balm on top to create their favorite new combination.

Mascara takes a lot of time to shock me because my eyelashes are very long and don't need much help (humbly bragging, I know). But the pillow will lift the eyelashes! The mascara is surprising. It was like, when I saw the result of combing my eyelashes with a magic wand, I was stunned. In a layer of coating, it deposits a lot of product to make my eyelashes plump from root to tip while separating them for a fuller effect. The formula is not so wet that it will stick or smudge on the eyelids, but it is also emollient enough to cover the eyelashes and will not flake under the eyes. With just a few coats, I think it can have the same pretend effect on anyone, regardless of the length and density of their natural eyelashes.

No matter what I use as eyeshadow or primer under it, my shadow always wrinkles and separates. To my surprise, the Color Chameleon eye shadow pen in Pillow Talk maintained zero crease for several hours. The shiny pink cream appeared on my light skin tone, swipe a few times on the lid, and it looked exactly like the hue in the tube. I applied cream on my eyelids, then painted Huda Beauty's matte brown bronzer on my creases, and used the EcoTools crease brush and fine eyeliner brush on the inner corners to apply Glossier's "Bluff" monochromatic toning The shiny light pink eyeshadow of the board, separately, and there is no problem in mixing the texture of cream and powder together. This pencil exceeded my expectations in terms of application, quality and wear.

There is no doubt that any makeup enthusiast will appreciate this suit because it can enhance their eyes and lips. Many beauty lovers have heard of Charlotte Tilbury's series of products, especially the Pillow Talk series, and hope to have the opportunity to try its top products. I suspect that every product will make your giveaway last a long time (except for mascara, which will dry or expire in a few months) and make your gift go further. In addition, although it looks like a splurge, the set is priced at $50, the full-size eye shadow stick retails for $27, and the travel-size items total $40 when purchased separately. But hurry up-it may sell out as quickly as a lip-only suit. If it is out of stock on Charlotte Tilbury's website, you can find it on Sephora, Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's.
