Issuing company's press release

Mortsel, Belgium-Today, Agfa announced the launch of its SYNAPS xerographic matt (XM) synthetic paper, which contains an agent that can combat the sedimentation and growth of bacteria and viruses on its surface.

The reagent remains active throughout the life cycle of synthetic paper and can also protect the print area covered by toner. Its efficiency of up to 99.99% has been proven through independent ISO 20743 and ISO 18184 tests.

This new SYNAPS XM replaces the existing XM product series, while fully retaining its excellent print quality, antistatic process performance and universal printer compatibility.

SYNAPS is a polyester-based printing medium developed, manufactured and sold by Agfa. It is available in two versions, based on different printing technologies, for offset printing and electronic ink (SYNAPS OM) and xerographic or dry toner (SYNAPS XM). OM and XM products are available in a variety of thicknesses, and OM also includes self-adhesive types. The use of SYNAPS is driven by applications that require durability indoors or outdoors and do not require lamination, such as labels, signs, labels, posters, and menu cards.
